Welcome to the Advanced Microbiology course. This course is offered in the second semester of the B Sc Honours year. The course study guide is aimed at assisting the student for preparation and as a self-study tool for the course. This course is designed to provide students with solid grounding in the role of microorganisms as pathogenic agents, the cellular and molecular basis of immune response and the tools used in diagnosing and treatment of infections caused by infectious agents.
